Coach Welch and I are semi huge Laker fans. When we were dating I didn't have the first clue about the Lakers or the Gators or the Cowboys. I did know that Steven loved him some Lakers and Shaq. This was in 2002.
At my house my family used to make these white post snowmen for Christmas as decorations. The snowmen were made up of a round wood post that were about 1-2 feet long and they were painted white to look like snowmen. We would then add buttons down the front and coordinate the tops of the posts with a toboggan hat. Each snowman or snowwoman would represent a member of our family. Well, I got the bright idea to make Steven one. Except it was a Shaq replica. I painted a post white, kind of ironic, and drew a Lakers jersey with Shaq's #34 on the front and back of the post. I then found a Lakers toboggan of all things and put this on the Shaq snowman's head. If I could find a picture I would post it. The description doesn't do it justice. Well, needless to say Steven loved it. We still have it and it was displayed until we packed this last time to move. I would love to get more wood posts and make a Magic snowman and a Kobe snowman. I may even make one of my favorites, Pau Gasol. Not likely, but it sounds cool.
