We were in Lowe's the other day (or Load's as Jackson calls it) buying some more paint when they announced over the loud speaker they were starting the "Build and Grow Clinic." The paint lady quickly talked us into going and building a monster truck. So I took the boys while Steven finished shopping.
Big mistake! We entered into a room of frantic parents and grandparents beating wood to death with a hammer. Great. Glad I volunteered for this. It was actually fun for the first 30 seconds. The boys were bamming away on their trucks while I was completing the release form. When the situation got a little hairy. Ok a lot hairy, because I ended up texting Steven to "HELP ME NOW!" exactly like that.
So he came walking through the door about a minute later. My knight in shinning armour! It's like he came in ready for round two of the tag team match. His comment to me when he sat next to us, "I thought something was wrong!" I said "Look at us, there is something wrong!" He was like "you're right ya'll are way behind everyone else!" I'm thinking duh! I am a little out numbered here.
Besides I may have been staring pretty hard at the old grandma in the corner whamming away as hard as she could on her grandson's truck. It was pretty funny because I did catch the eye of the lady next to me with her mouth open watching too! Anyways, Mr. Incredible put together two monster trucks faster than I could fill out the release form. Oh, and by the way as soon as I turned in the release form Everett whacked his thumb with the hammer. Not just a little hit with the hammer. This kid was hitting so hard the nail was actually being driven into the wood. So yes, his thumb busted and bled all over the place including my shirt. He was a trooper though. He finished his monster truck. He's cool now. His thumb healed up quite nicely. But onto the point of the story. The boys were given aprons and goggles to wear while building and you know they were the cutest things in their wee little boots. Yes, as you will see below my two sons can pull off wearing boots with shorts!
Don't they remind you of someone or somethings? Hmmm who could it be? I know! Maybe the minions on the new movie Despicable Me! Yep, that's it!
I officially have the replacements for what Jackson calls "cheerios with eyes!" I just love it! Don't you!
