Valentine's Day always seems to sneak up on me as far as decorating goes. I made these mailboxes last year at the last minute. I found the mailboxes in the dollar spot at Target. 3 red ones for the fellas and a pink one for me cause I'm the lady of the house.
I then went the cheap route and glued them to the top of red plastic cups that I had on hand. I wasn't sure how rough the mailboxes would be handled with a 4 and 2 year old so I went with disposable plastic cups just in case.
After I glued the mailboxes to the plastic cups I got out my handy dandy silhouette machine and cut out cute hearts and letters to modge podge onto the mailboxes for a little touch of personalization.
I filled the mailboxes with candy and let the fellas have at it. I will be sitting them out again this year and see how long they last.
Total cost for this project was maybe $6. $1 for each mailbox, I already had the red plastic cups, silhouette machine, scrapbook paper, modge podge and I spent maybe $2 for the candy.
