Just Peanuts

We are currently in the process of building a house in a hay field and recently our septic tank was dug and placed behind our home. A few days later I was up at the house with the kids inspecting the nice pile of dirt when I saw some peanut hulls in the mix of all the dirt and rocks. I asked my husband how long had it been since the hay field had peanuts planted in it and he told me it had been several years. I then asked him how long it takes a peanut to decompose and he looked at me weird and said "why?" I said "because there's peanuts in the dirt and I want to show the boys and tell them how old they are." He died laughing and said "you realize the contractor was up here eating boiled peanuts the other day and dumped the shells on the dirt right?" All i could do was smile and giggle. Who knew?
