First, I want to say I
This is my version of the pizza pinwheel. First, I bought the following ingredients: 1 can of pizza dough, 1 pack of pepperoni, 1 bag of sliced mozzarella cheese, 1 bag of sliced cheddar cheese, garlic salt and garlic powder.
First, I preheated my oven to 425 degrees. I then unrolled my pizza dough onto my baking sheet. Next, I coated my pizza dough with mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese. I loves me some cheese so I wasn't shy about adding it. I then made two long rows of pepperoni. I also loves me some pepperoni so I added a lot. One thing I would do different to this recipe the next time is maybe add some pizza sauce before I added the cheese and pepperoni. I did dip the pinwheels in marinara sauce which was really good but I wonder how delicious it would be with the sauce already added, hmmm...
Next step is to tightly roll the pizza dough until you have a long tube. Really roll this bad boy tight. I rolled it but it wasn't very tight and my fillings kept falling out. So again be sure to roll this bad boy tight!
After you have rolled a pizza tube you need to cut it into 1/2 to 1 inch thick slices. You should get anywhere from 16 to 20 slices depending on the thickness of each slice. Then place the slices on a baking sheet.
See how the insides kept falling out. Be sure you roll the tube TIGHT and this won't happen to you! Here is another look just because I took another picture!
At this point you can add some garlic salt or garlic powder if you prefer and I did prefer! Once you are through put these bad boys in the oven for about 7 to 10 minutes. I let mine stay in a minute too long I think but they turned out delicious!
I served my pinwheels with marinara sauce I bought at the grocery store. It's a good thing too because I sure didn't know how to make any marinara sauce and when I googled a recipe someone suggested to just go buy it in a jar! Perfect!
The boys weren't really interested in them. They were interested when I told them we were having pizza but then they saw it and decided it wasn't pizza. Jackson kept asking where the sliced pizza was with the lines that make a triangle. I even stuck a piece on a skewer so it would look like a sucker and they still wouldn't touch it. Oh well, more for me and the Coach!
