We have huge mosquitoes and a lot of them! I have never seen mosquitoes soo big before. I decided to google the natural ways to combat mosquitoes and apparently one of the most effective ways is to have your own dragonflies. They apparently eat mosquitoes. Well if you are interested in having your own dragonflies I would suggest praying for them first. Growing your own dragonflies native to your area is a long process. While I was researching our horrible mosquito problem, I was also praying. It seems like the very next day I went outside around dusk and low and behold hundreds if not thousands of these huge ginormous dragonflies were hovering the ground flying everywhere! Prayer immediately answered! I have never seen so many dragonflies in the same area before not to mention how huge they are! This bad boy was photographed on our porch, I felt lucky enough to get one.
Watching the dragonflies is truly mesmerizing. I could watch them for hours. They seem to all get along and they just buzz around eating bugs. They only seem to come out in swarms around dusk or early mornings. I have liked dragonflies for years now and honestly feel privileged to have been able to watch these amazing insects. It's wonderful how God has his hand in what seems like the smallest things.
