The other day I got a phone call from Coach saying "It's here, it's finally here!" Not having a clue what he was talking about I said " Oh good, what's here?" Coach: "THE MAGIC AND BIRD VIDEO!"
I told him he didn't have to wait on me to watch it since I was at work and he said he already had it on! Ha, ha, can you believe that? He wasn't waiting on anyone to watch this video. He had already waited 3 months for it to arrive.
This is the happiest I have seen Coach in a long time. When I got home the excitement he had watching Bird and Magic was great to see. Apparently anybody who grew up in this era watching this rivalry/friendship all feel the same way about these two basketball players. And if you ask any of them this video is like gold.
But since I am a girl and I didn't grow up during this time, I think I was in like 3rd grade when this was going on, I haven't a clue about what emotions Coach is feeling. But I respect the fact that he holds something like this so dear to his heart. Like we all should. Not necessarily this, but something. We should all hold something dear from our youth in our hearts.
